I have always been a 'big hair' kind of girl. I have naturally wavy hair and I often use a curling wand to get extra defined curls. I have never been a fan of flat hair, so I have tried MANY different products on the market to get me as much volume as possible. Sure, I can use any old teasing comb, even my fingers to tease and get some extra volume up at the roots, but let's face it, teasing wavy/curly hair can sometimes just turn into a total nightmare. I have been searching for that one product that will give me volume, but still keep my curls intact without making them frizzy and dry. I cannot explain the excitement I had when I received the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust Matiffying Powder to try out. I received it from Influenster for free to test out and share my honest opinion. This was probably the one product I have been most excited to test out, it could be a life changer after all (or at least a hair changer).
OSiS+ Dust It is a multi purpose mattifying powder that adds incredible root lift, texture and control. It is perfect for creating thicker, fuller-looking hair. Thicker, fuller looking hair is exactly what I go after when I am styling my hair, especially for a night out or a special occasion. Remember I said I hate flat hair? Well needless to say, this product was absolutely AMAZING. I noticed that it gave me the most amazing volume right at my roots, which is something I have never been able to do without the help of constant teasing and hairspray. You don't need a lot of this product either, which I learned the hard way right at first. Because it is a lightweight powder, you may be tempted to use a little too much the first time, but it did work well and my volume lasted a good amount of time. I also loved that if I used it on my somewhat damp hair, it acted more like a control cream, and it defined my curls and made them last all day.
One of my favorite ways to use this product was to achieve that classy high pony-tail. I turned my head upside down and sprinkled the powder directly onto my scalp. I then took my hands and 'raked' my fingers all through my scalp and when I picked my head up, BAM! Volume galore! Then I simply gathered my hair into a high ponytail by gently raking my fingers through my hair and I got the look I wanted without disturbing my waves. I didn't need to use a teasing comb to get that unbelievable lift. Also, try using this product when you are in a hurry and just want to get those 'beachy waves' that are ever so popular right now. Apply some of this powder to damp hair and scrunch your hair while you aim your blow dryer at the roots. It will give you instant beachy waves.
